New Top 10 = Infected Websites

There’s a new top 10 list, the Top 10 infected websites in the USA. It must be every company and webmaster’s nightmare to be listed as one of the most infected websites in the whole country. This list will change alot but if you or anyone you know are visiting any of these websites, let hope your antivirus software is working and up to date. Infected in this sense is used in the general sense to include viruses and other malicious software.
According to Avast antivirus they have tested over 800 million websites to determine the most infected sites by country, it’s good to remember there are over a billion sites on the web today and that leaves room for many other infected sites that haven’t been looked at.
If you do own a website or are thinking about getting one, security should be on your list of considerations and having an experienced team like KDWebServices and TechMan3k will help keep your website and reputation from being destroyed by these kind of attacks. Prevention and Recovery are two key strategies that should be in your website plan.
Something, people don’t always consider is they could inadvertently infect their own website from a personal computer by uploading infected files. This is yet another reason to keep your personal computer clean and secure, use KDWebServices PC Shield support page if you’re a DIY’er (do it yourself-er) or contact a competent technical person. Having a safe computer is a must when working on websites.
You can bet there will be updates as virus and other malware infections are not only dangers to personal computers but also websites. Hackers are constantly attacking or creating websites to spread malware as some names on the list do not appear to be sensible or legitimate. Website Domain Names are an important staple of credibility and most companies will fiercely protect their name, to avoid litigation some hackers will use names like xyzz3.com or even sensible names that don’t violate any obvious copywrite. But we know sites on this list have been compromised and while they are on it, my suggestion is stay very far away from them.
